allanny13 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Hello,I'm want to bid on a 5* hotel room in London for 3/16/10-3/20/10 (four nights). My preferred zones are Mayfair-Soho and Westminster. Could you please help with a bidding strategy, and what are other zones in London that I can use for re-bidding that don't actually have 5* hotels? Thanks!Allan
yellowdog Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding :) Start with reading this link: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained The board can confirm your zones but you need to know how to determ them by yourself.Yellowdog.
allanny13 Posted January 19, 2010 Author Report Posted January 19, 2010 So I briefly read through the re-bidding explanations but was under a time crunch to book this, I guess I got the basic jist of it. I followed a bidding strategy from a previous thread that was very helpful.Paid $175/night (4 nights) for the Grosvenor House, a 5* J.W. Marriott Hotel ($839.08 total w/ tax).I'm very happy with the end result. I got a little inpatient as I ran out of rebid zones and started upping the price more than I should have but the $175 was my last possible offer (I'm thinking I maybe could have got it at $160?). I started at $125 I believe and moved up in $5 increments. This was fun and I feel like I got a great deal. Great forum, thanks!
yellowdog Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Thank you for sharing your result with the board :) Great to see that you're happy with the outcome.Enjoy your stay. Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Yellowdog.
