IMCJL Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Tried 4* in SOMA, USW and USE in progressions of $75, $80 and $85, but got rejected all 3 times. Added in Financial District and went back down to $80 and got the 4* Hyatt Regency SF. Not thrilled with the property per se, but it is fine and on average represents a $100/nite savings vs. most other websites, so am really happy about that -- pays for one of our SWA tickets up from OC. Booked through Betterbidding PRICELINE link with guidance from same...thanks Betterbidding!

IMCJL Posted January 28, 2010 Author Report Posted January 28, 2010 As an update -- this is a tired property. Not bad, but not great. For $40 more, they upgraded us to a high room view of the bay and city, which was nice. Had our own private balcony as well. Spacious room relatively speaking with a good sized dressing/vanity area, etc. They had just shampooed the carpeting which was good/bad -- it was clean, but because they didn't tell us about it, our socks got soaked immediately and had to have them bring us up slippers to walk around our room in. The service was uneven as well (had to fix a dripping bath faucet that the plumber complained about repairing the whole time--and then actually didnt even fix it). The building is just kind of boring cement and you almost feel like you are in a huge warehouse...just kind of a cold/stark feel to it. The surrounding area is virtually all business/financial, so it is not in a very vibrant area for walking around in the evening (it is across the street from the Embarcadero tho).
AaronJB Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Sorry to hear that this was a so-so stay. :)
