chloe1984 Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 Hi guys, I am a first time user of this site and a first time (potential) Hotwire user. I am heading to Boston in May with my mother and adult brother. We cant afford to pay Boston prices for two hotel rooms so we want a 2 bedded room. I can share with my mother and my brother will get his own bed. I found a good rate on Hotwire for a 3.5 star in Copley. I assume after reading all your information that this is either the Hilton or Sheraton back bay. So anyway, i started to get paranoid that they may shove us all into a room with 1 king bed which really wouldnt work! We will be close enough for comfort in one room! Reading your boards put me a little at ease as most posts seemed to say that if you book for 3 adults on Hotwire you are guaranteed 2 beds. However, just to be on the safe side, i e-mailed both hotels with vague information about having booked nights in their hotel via Hotwire and if it will be possible to get 2 beds and e-mailed Hotwire customer support to see if they have a definite policy regarding the bed situation for 3 adults. Well the Hilton got back to me saying that they could put us in a king room potentially that Hotwire doesnt specify and Hotwire got back to me saying the same thing. They said the only way to guarantee 2 beds is to book for four adults which shoots the price up again. Just thought this was interesting. "To be certain that you will receive the needed accommodations, I would recommend actually booking your reservation for 4 adults. This will guarantee you two beds". Has anyone had the experience of booking for 3 adults on Hotwire and gettting one king bed???!!

AaronJB Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 That's the first I've ever heard regarding 4 adults. As far as I've been aware, HOTWIRE provides bedding for the amount of people in the room - if 2 people, 1 bed; if more than 2, then possibly 1 bed + sofabed or 2 beds.In terms of indicating 4 people, you could search for 3 adults and 1 child. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
thereuare Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 I'd guess that if you booked for 3 adults and were given a King room, it would either have a pullout sofabed OR the hotel would supply a rollaway (at no charge)... both would be acceptable within the HOTWIRE agreement.I have never heard a hotel exepct a King bed (with no other sofabed or rollaway) to accomodate 3 adults. What are the actual date(s) of your stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. chloe1984 Posted January 12, 2010 Author Report Posted January 12, 2010 My dates are the 16th to the 21st May 2010. Thanks for getting back to me!
thereuare Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 I'm assuming the price you're seeing is ~$150/nite? Searching for 3adults/1child (quad occupancy) keeps the price at the $149/nite level, so i would just book at 3adults/1child and not have to worry about it.I'm guessing the hotel you're seeing is more likely the Sheraton (than the Hilton). Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. chloe1984 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Report Posted January 28, 2010 Just wanted to give a quick update. I went ahead and booked a 3.5 star Back Bay-Copley district. I booked for 3 adults and one child (even though there will only be 3 adults). It was the Sheraton which I am delighted with as we have stayed there before. The price was $152 per night which for May 16th-21st was a really good rate for a triple occupancy room. I rang the hotel literally minutes after booking to request 2 beds and the agent was nice and said he doesnt foresee there being any problem with this. Yay!!
AaronJB Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Congratulations on your success! Glad that you are pleased with the result and that the hotel was willing to work with you regarding bedding. It would be greatly appreciated if you could confirm the amenities that were showing with this HOTWIRE listing. Thanks. :)Thank you for sharing your win with the board please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
