Priceline Hotel: 5* Venice, Italy Hotel - May 13 - 14 OR May 14 - 15

Hi,

This is my first time booking a hotel via Priceline and I had no success for the past 3 days. I have read some of the posts, but I was wondering if you can offer some tips.

Here is the detail:

- Date: Preferable date: May 13 - May 14 (2 nights) OR May 14 - 15, 2010.

- Number of Rooms = 2

- Minimum Star = 5

- Area: Venice

- Maximum Price/room = ~ $150... I think it works out to be ~ $135/bid.

Here are my past History of bidding. Please note, initially I was planning to stay 1 night only.

- May 15 Night (1 night) - Bid $110, counter @ $146.2 --> Rejected and added Mestre and rebid @ $120

- May 15 Night (1 night) - Bid $126, asked to add $22-> Rejected and added Mestre and rebid @ $130

- May 13 - 14 Night (2 night) - Bid $126, counter @ ~$192-> Rejected and added Mestre and rebid @ $130

- May 13 - 14 Night (2 night) - Bid $120, counter @ ~$192-> Rejected and added Mestre and rebid @ $132 --> Rejected and changed to May 14 - 15 @ $132

It seems like a Sat night (May 15) is cheaper than weekdays. If traveling during weekend is cheaper, I am willing to switch my schedule a bit. I am hoping to get a room around a maximum of $300 a night for a family of 4.

Are you now considering changing your dates to 5/14-5/16? Would 5/15-5/17 also work for your needs? Is 5/13-5/15 your preferred dates?

Since your current maximum bid is $135, and you have already bid up to $130 ($132 for one set of dates) i would try as follows next time you're able to bid again:

5/13-5/15 (assuming these dates are preferred vs. the weekend nites):

Select 5* Venice...

Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135., if the above is rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE

Change dates to 5/14-5/16... (no need to wait 24 hours since changing dates)

Select 5* Venice...

Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135

I have tried both dates, unfortunately, no success. For both date selections, I got a counter bid @ $197.

I just tried and bit $130, counter offer @ $197, and re-bid again @ $135 and got rejected.

I guess I will keep trying with the above options, as I believe I can bid again with a few date options (e.g. May 13-15; May 14 - 16, May 15 - 16) . No need to wait 24hrs. :)
