steveholz Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Bid $35 for a 3* or 2* in Duluth. Got the Holiday Inn - Downtown Waterfront, which reviews suggest should be a 2 1/2 or 3*, so I'm hoping it's nice. Thanks for the forum-Steve
thereuare Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Was this your first bid in this zone or were you rejected previously at lower levels?Admittedly some areas don't get many datapoints (but by default these aren't the areas that most people are looking for) so we are very thankful for you adding this new hotel to our lists in a non-so-frequently traveled area.Have a great stay! steveholz Posted January 12, 2005 Author Report Posted January 12, 2005 are you saying no one wants to go to Duluth, Mn in the winter!?? It's only going to be -20 tomorrow night. :-)I bid $30 for a 3*, and that was (of course) rejected , so I added the 2* and $35. Glad to help add to a great resource.
steveholz Posted January 20, 2005 Author Report Posted January 20, 2005 It's a very nice 16 story hotel with free parking and restaurant/Starbucks in the basement. An UNBELIEVABLE value for $35. Once there, we opted to stay another night and since they had a business center we were able to log on to priceline at get another night at $35. (The hotel wanted $120 for a 2nd night). But I did learn about the before 6pm limit for same-day hotel reservations on Priceline. Hope this is helpful.Steve
