Definitely pays to wait until a week or two before travel - I had been bidding this for months, and as of early December Priceline was telling me that I needed to bid $31 to $33 to have a realistic chance of winning my bid. I had a conventional reservation as backup, which I cancelled once Priceline finally came through. Link to comment
