sallym786 Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 The 4* Back Bay Hotel i am seeing for January 29th, 2010 is:$109 Hotwire King or Queen BedBed ChoiceNo SmokingFitnessRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh Speed InternetYour help is highly appreciated! Thank you!
thereuare Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!A property with this exact amenity combination has not yet been reproted to the board. At first i thought it was the Lennox with the addition of a Smoke Free icon (as all boston hotels are now smoke free) but then i saw the following:If you change your search to 2adults/2children a 'new' 4* hotel appears in this zone for the same $109/nite price with:Smoke Free, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Internet, SpaThis is a match for the Westin Copley Plaza so that would be my best guess for this one. Given the same pricepoint as the 2adult/0children search i'm speculating that they're the same hotel, with the previous search 'hiding' some of the amenities, but can't be certain of this, so if you're interested in trying to target the Westin it would be better to purchase as 2adults/2children since this is the 'stronger' match for this property. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. sallym786 Posted January 9, 2010 Author Report Posted January 9, 2010 $89 3.5* back bay for Jan 29th check out 30thbed choice fitness centerbusiness centerhigh speed internet accesspoolsmoke freerestaurant could you please help id which hotel this is, and then do you think 89$ at this 3.5* is better than $113 at 4* (say the westin)?Thank you!
thereuare Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Given both 4* searches (2adults/0children and 2adults/2chidren) are once again showing the same price point, i'm assuming that both are the same hotel, and the Westn is likely (ie- no guarnatees for either, and less confident if going for the 2adults/0children offer with fewer amenities)If searching for quad occupancy you're more likely to be assigned a room with 2 beds in the room, but you can make a request with the hotel to see if they'd be willing to accomodate your request for a room with a King bed, which would be at the discretion of the hotel based upon occupancy levels, availability, mood of the front desk clerk, etc. I would think such a room change would be easier than going from a room with one bed to a room wtih two beds, but you never know how willing the hotel/clerk will be.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. thereuare Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. The 3.5* is a match for both the Hilton Back Bay and the Sheraton. I think the Sheraton is the more likely of the two, but you should be prepared for either.I've stayed at the Westin years ago and it was a nice stay... as always, great beds, and the hotel is attached to a mall as well as near a T stop. I'm not as familiar with the Sheraton (or Hilton) but first thing i would do is check how close the nearest metro stop is (assuming that is how you'll be getting around the city)... assuming both are equaly, it really depends upon what you're looking for from this stay and how you value $25/nite.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help.
