mapper Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 Hi there. My first bid of $93 on 1/5/10 was accepted for the Wailea Marriott. My first experience with Priceline has been great so far; airfare, midsize rental car and a room in a resort for 10 days in Maui for under $2000. Didn't bid on airfare because I wanted to select our flight and had the car offered for $15/day when booking the flight. Can't wait for our first trip to Hawaii! One question for anybody: as far as getting a more desirable room, does anybody think it better to check in to your hotel ASAP or to wait until later in the day? Thanks!
thereuare Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you're happy with the results and your PRICELINE experience thus far has been positive! There is no answer for the 'best' time to check-in as there are so many variables, mostly based upon occupancy the nite before and the mood of the check-in clerk, but generally the most rooms will be avaialble after official check-out time (usually 11am-noon) but before officila check-in time (usually ~3pm). chanpo Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 How did you bid for the Marriott? Did you bid resort and $93 and got it on the first try? What would you have done if you were denied? Would you have added another region, or another star class in addition to increasing your bid? Please help!
