Andy123 Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 Just learn about this great forum from my friend. Great Job.I looked at the hotel list, but can't find any match. A question about the list.Does the order of the icon important when matching the hotel ?Can you help me identify this hotel ? The price seems great.$38/night for 1/13 and 1/14 night.4 stars Downtown Las Vegas Area Hotel. Resort, Casino, Fitness center, Pool, Restaurant, business center, high speed internet, spaI haven't been to Las Vegas for over 20 years, and we will have a rental car. Is this going to be very inconvenient if it is in Downtown instead of on the strip ?thanks
thereuare Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding... and thanks to your friend for directing you here :)The order of the amenities deosn't matter (HOTWIRE changes the order presented from time to time) but ideally the amenities themselves should match exactly (ie- no additional amenities and none missing vs. previous reports)The property above matches the Golden Nugget so that would be my best guess. Is this inconvenient? Depends upon your needs and the purpose of this trip. If you're looking to simply gamble downtown (where the odds are often better) then perhaps this will work for your needs, as the Golden Nugget is arguably the nicest hotel in the Downtown area. Hoever, if you're looking to get reaquainted with 'new' Las Vegas and want to mostly hang out on the strip and see all the mega-resorts that have been built, then it would be better to stay directly on the strip where you can walk out of your hotel and be in the heat of it all, return to your hotel room during the day to rest, sit, or wash-up before dinner, etc, etc.I just gave a quick HOTWIRE search and the on-strip hotels are not much more... 4* for $49, 3.5* for $39. With prices like this for centrally located properties I don't see much of a reason to stay Downtown, unless that's where you intend to stay most of the time. The inconvenience of Downtown can be worthwhile if there is a significant discount, but in this instance you have 3.5* hotels for the same price and 4* hotels for $10 more, which i dont' think makes Downtown worthwhile. Since i already know your next question, here are the answers :)...4* Cetnral StripCasino, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Golf, SpaBest guess is the Treasure Island3.5* Central StripCasino, Pool, Restaurant, Internet, Golf, SpaNot certain but a guess would be Flamingo, Ballys, or HarrahsPlease use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
