Hi everyone.

New to the site, great service you guys are offering here.

My wife and I and 2 friends are going to LV Mar 15-18 for a "Baby on the way, last chance to spend money and have fun for the next 20 years" holiday. Looking for 2 rooms in a 5 star on the strip for a deal so we have a little more $$$ to waste on shows, golf and wine (for me, not the wife :) ).

Any advice on bidding on Priceline to get the best hotel for the money? How much should we bid to get the best deals? We are open to most spots, I've heard theHotel is a good choice and a possible get with Priceline, as is Trump.......

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. If I've over looked anything or forgotten to mention something, let me know and I'll answer as I can.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Betterbidding!

Congrats on your upcoming addition! :)

What would be your budget per night, and what areas are you interested in bidding on? Would the possibility of the Trump be a negative (some people don't want the hotel due to lack of casino.) Are you going to be 4 in the room, or are you looking for two rooms?

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.

Thanks Aaron!

Looking for 2 rooms, budget around $100-125 a night right now but if $150 makes a world of difference, then that's what it'll be.......That being said, if I can get away with $75, I'd love that.

Want to be on strip as nobody in the party but myself has been to Vegas and they want to be in the action. No preference as far as where on strip, I've stayed north and south and have enjoyed both.

Not too concerned about the lack of a casino as none of us are big gamblers (will only play about $50 a day just for the experience), more going for the golf/wine/dinner/shopping scene plus I have friends in the area that I can play golf with (one of whom owns a Lamborghini that I haven't seen and really want to drive :) ).

I've heard that the one negative of Trump is the walk between it and the rest of the casinos/hotels is through a bit of a rough area? Any thoughts on that? I'm not keen on my pregnant wife wandering down dimly lit side streets.......

Want to be on strip...

An 'issue' with the Trump is that it's not exactly on the strip, although located in PRICELINE's Strip zone. Some have called the walk 'not a big deal' while others have called it 'far' from the strip, so i supposed it depends upon how much you're used to walking (personally i enjoy it). However, the Trump is not a "walk out your door and be in the center of it all" type of Vegas experience, and that would be my caution to you based upon your preferences stated above. As well, there's no casino, and that could take away from some of the vegas ambience you seem to be looking for this trip (on the otherhand the No Smoke aspect would be a plus for your wife)

If the Trump isn't a desired outcome, that PRICELINE wouldn't be recommended for this stay, imo, since there would be no way to avoid the Trump when bidding the Strip North zone. You could 'safely' bid the South Strip zone where THEhotel is located, but this hotel doesn't come up too often so i wouldn't bet too heavily on this being your expected outcome (it's worth a shot though, but also keep in mind the location of the THEhotel... all the way at the south end of the strip, also not a 'walk out your door' Vegas experience, imo)

HOTWIRE would still be an option but it appears you'll need to compromise either on star rating or price or location.. what appears to be the Trump is available for $85/nite, the Venetian or Palazzo for $169/nite, or Caesars Palace for $99/nite.

Let us know your thoughts regarding the above and we'll take it from there.

I'm not terribly familiar with Vegas, but hopefully another poster can discuss the area around the Trump.

In terms of the Trump, though - I am seeing what would appear to be a match for the Trump on HOTWIRE for $84 for these nights.

HOWEVER:

Orbitz has the Trump for $105 w/a $50 Spa Credit, which might be a nice treat for your wife. Use coupon code WELCOME10, and you get 10% off the rate - $94.50 per night, and you get the $50 spa credit and late check-out (which I don't think HOTWIRE/PRICELINE customers get at this property.) So, for only a bit more than the HOTWIRE price, you get a $50 spa credit and late check-out. See the details for the spa credit/checkout on Orbitz.

HOTWIRE also has a 5* for $169, but Orbitz has the 5* MGM Signature for $145 (WELCOME10 coupon works for this property) and the new Vdara Hotel and Spa for $175 (WELCOME10 also works here.) The MGM/Vdara rooms are suites.

The other 5* Central Strip that is showing on HOTWIRE (Resort, Suite, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa) may be either the Palazzo or Venetian.

So, overall, quite a few choices around your range (Vdara, MGM, the HOTWIRE 5*) or - at a considerably cheaper price and the Spa credit on top - the Trump.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Orbitz.com links.

Thanks for the tips guys, I've done a little research and the Trump sounds like it'll suit us just fine. We can live with the walk (which sounds very manageable) and LOVE the no smoke aspect.......Plus all reports are that the rooms are VERY nice.....

Think I'll use the Orbitz link and book with the spa credit.....Will let everyone know what we do in the end, going to book on Sunday.

Cheers.
