holee Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 I'm looking to travel on the week of January 15-17 in Chicago. Arrive Friday afternoon and check out Sunday afternoon. One adult.Hotwire shows a few options there:4.5 *$89/nightMagnificent Mile/Streeterville HotelFitness CenterRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh Speed InternetNo Tripadvisor rankingLooking through these forums, it seems Hilton Conrad, Inter-Continental and The James would all fit that criteria, would that be correct?I also found a 4* one$79/nightNorth Michigan Avenue - Water Tower - Gold Coast HotelFitness CenterRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh Speed InternetNo Tripadvisor rankingForums indicate this could be Allerton, Westin Michigan Ave, Knickerbocker and Drake. And finally another 4* one$68/nightMagnificent Mile Area - Streeterville Hotel BoutiqueNo SmokingFitness CenterRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh Speed InternetTripadvisor - 4.0/5.0Would this be Hotel Felix or Monaco?I will purchase my Hotwire reservation via the links on this forum, so proper credit is given. Thanks for any help on this.

holee Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 I just booked my hotel, using the HOTWIRE link from this forum. The 4.5 * one for $89 turned out to be the InterContinental.I didn't see any place on the reservation where I could specify # of beds, but I imagine I can contact the hotel directly for that. I'm not aware of January 16th weekend being anythign particularly busy for Chicago.Thank you, all.
AaronJB Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Congratulations on your success! :)The Intercontinental is very well-located, historic property. The hotel actually has a rather neat history, which can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InterContinental_ChicagoThe number of beds is not guaranteed with HOTWIRE reservations, although given the slow period, hopefully the hotel will be willing to work with you.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.Enjoy your stay.
