Had bid a few days ago for $30 for SUV for above dates - bid failed

bid $30 today for midsize and bid was accepted on first bid becuase i was getting tired of bidding and wanted a car - lesson learned people - have patience with priceline bids :-) i may have over-bid. in any event, cheapest i could find for intermediate car on Travelocity was $359 for all days including tax (and it was similar or higher prices on Enterprise website directly, HOTWIRE, kayak, etc). My win on PRICELINE is $276.42 total with tax.

thereyouare - if you read this - do you think i overbid? any advice for future except to start lower and not jump from suv to midsize (duh on my part, right?)

I'm not following your numbers too well... a $30 bid for 3 days comes to about $122 all-in, so not sure how your total came up to $276 all-in, unless one of the numbers above is incorrect.

Can you clarify the prices and your bid amount, as well as let us know which car company accepted your winning bid.

Sorry about the misplacement of the post! This was my first time visiting the car rental section of this board and hadn't posted car rental bids before.

Anyway - rental agency I won is Alamo. i put the wrong dates in the tag line above - i rented the midsize car from jan 30, 2010 to feb 6, 2010. I bid 30 bucks and it was accepted on the first bid. total with taxes is 276.42. Hope this info helps to clarify.

Seems like a decent deal to me... nearly $100 off the best available i can find on a current search.
