Lorimar Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 "I specifically avoided the 3.5 hotel (probably would have got Crowne Plaza) since they were charging a resort fee + fee for fridge and micro (with no guarantee). "Did you do anything specific to avoid the other 3* hotel in Garden Grove (Hilton Garden Inn)? I would like to try for the same Residence inn for Feb 12 - 19 as it is suites, but am a little nervous that I will end up with Hilton! And one more question - when you called and requested the upgrade, did they give you any other options to upgrade to (such as the two bedroom suite they offer) or was the extra bed all you actually asked for? I am hoping to upgrade to the 2 bedroom, which of course I would pay extra for.I have never bid on on PRICELINE before, I hope my questions don't sound too stupid! Thanks for the help!
AaronJB Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Welcome to Betterbidding! :)There is no "work around" to get a particular property via PRICELINE; it is a roll of the dice, and a user must be willing to accept any of the properties in the zone at the star rating that is bid on.PRICELINE and HOTWIRE reservations are not eligible for upgrades, but users may make a "request" with the hotel or offer to pay an "upgrade fee" (which would depend on the hotel and upgrade.) However, the hotel may say no, depending on availability and/or hotel policy. If you are willing to accept a different property besides the Residence, please let us know your desired budget per night and we will be happy to offer suggestions on how to proceed. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
