Hi,

I'm trying to get a hotel from 01/20/10-01/25/10. I would prefer a 3.5-4* rating in the upper area of the city (MTW, CPS, UES, UWS). Only thing is that I am on a budget of maybe $500-550? So...like a $85-90 bid is what I am looking for??? Is this even possible?

Also, what hotels are in the Central Park South area?

Welcome to Betterbidding :)

The bid would probably have to be around $85 for that budget. A 4* for these dates for an $85 bid in one of the Midtown areas (MTE, MTW, CPS, TS) is going to most likely be unrealistic. However, a 3.5* would be likely be within the realm of possibility and you could probably start a bit lower. HOTWIRE has a 3.5* in MTE for $99, as well, although with tax that comes out to $594.

Is MTE acceptable?

There are links (look for Priceline Hotel List-New York and Hotwire Hotel List-New York) in the NY section of the board to pages that display wins reported to the board in NYC for both HOTWIRE and PRICELINE.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.

Hmmm ok thanx! 3.5 star is fine. I just want a nice clean hotel and a good area. I know MTE area is by Grand Central Station but that's all I know. Just wanted to know if it was a safe area?

MTE is quite a nice area, although a couple of the 3.5* properties (the Tudor, the Millennium UN) are rather far East in the zone. Additionally, some hotels in UWS/UES are not centrally located.

Which zones would be of interest - (MTE/MTW/TS/CPS/USE/USW?) Is there a particular area you need/want to be near?
