hokies2010 Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 I am taking a quick stop to las Vegas with my wife on Jan 1st for one night, we have never been to Las Vegas! Would like to get a 5* on the strip with a great price. Any suggestions? This trip ia a celebration of our 25th! Thanks
AaronJB Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Welcome to Betterbidding! Congrats on your 25th Anniversary! :) What would be your desired max budget per night for hotel? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
thereuare Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 As well, also note that the Trump International is in PRICELINE's strip zone but located slightly off the strip. As well, there is no casino at this property.Would this be an acceptable outcome? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

thereuare Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 The verdict is out on distance to the Strip... some people call it 'far' and take a cab the short distance to the strip, while others say it's "not too bad" and do indeed walk it. I suppose it has a lot to do with what types of areas you're accustomed to.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. hokies2010 Posted December 30, 2009 Author Report Posted December 30, 2009 I found a deal on Travelocity for $210, Mirage and a rental car. Havent booked it, still looking?
thereuare Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 I think you can do considerably better if you're flexible in the 4* hotel (which is what the MIRAGE is rated) that you're willing to accept. For example, i think is either the Paris or Planet Hollywood (the latter more likely) is available for $110 all-in and a rental car (24 hours) for $30 all-in... so $140 total for a 4* hotel on the strip including rental care for one day. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. (or our Travelocity link if you decide to go with the above)Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. AaronJB Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 I'm seeing $109 for PH on Expedia.com, but I'm getting an error every time I try to select it. HOTWIRE does have some availability, but the cheapest 4* is in the downtown area that I'm seeing is for $72 (what would appear to be the Golden Nugget) or a 4* in the South Strip for $119 (likely the South Point, which is not much more regular rate.) Have you attempted to bid $150 for a 5*? HOTWIRE has a couple of 5*'s in the Central Strip zone - one condo (likely the Trump) and another 5*, both for around $199.The Signature @ MGM is $209 via Orbitz, and coupon code WELCOME10 does subtract 10% off.
thereuare Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 The above was all on HOTWIRE, but the 4* hotel is no longer appearing on a current search for your dates... but the car rental is still avaialble. ($18 all-in for a one day rental). If you can get the Planet Hollywood to book thru Expedia, or any of the other reasonably priced hotels there or thru HOTWIRE or PRICELINE bidding, you can can see how you can do better than the 'package' you mention above.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
