vir Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Started the bid at $70.Added 2 free rebid zones to increase the bid to 75 and 80. Waited 24 Hrs and bid $82.Only downside is $22.5 additional resort fee which I was not aware of. So the total comes out to be around $115 with tax. May be there should be a section here with list of hotels who charge resort fee.Used the PRICELINE link from here.

vir Posted December 29, 2009 Author Report Posted December 29, 2009 Yellowdog, Thanks for the link to the topic.Do you know why Priceline doesn't specify the resort fee when we are bidding and includes the resort fee in the price. I mean instead of my winning bid of $82 + tax it should be $82 + $22.5 = $104.5 + taxFor the above price I possibly could have got Wynn.
thereuare Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 All hotels, even when booked directly with the property or a 3rd party agency (Expedia, Orbitz, etc), have you pay Resort fees direclty to the hotel. I suppose it may have something to do with many systems not having the ability to have an extra line item, as well as how to handle a situation where the resort fee changes over time (ie- what if you book today for a stay 6 months from now, and pre-paid a $15/nite resort fee, and the fee goes up 3 months from now... what if the fee goes down? not to mention the hotel dealing with which booking agencies have already collected the resort fee and which ones have not) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
