like2cruise Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Help :) I have a friend needing a one night hotel pre-cruise in Tampa. 3* Suite, Airport Shuttle, Pool, Fitness Center, Kitchenette, Tennis Nearby in the Westshore TPA International Airport area for $95.00. Initially I thought this maybe an Embassy Suites which would be a good deal. However, I do not know of too many Embassy Suites with free shuttle and no breakfast is indicated so I am now doubtful. Also any clues for a 2 1/2*, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Airport Shuttle in the same area for $57.00. THANKS!!!
thereuare Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 Not sure of either of these properties, but may want to give Priceline a try instead, as we've seen 3* and 4* hotels come up significantly less expensive than HOTWIRE is showing for these nites (although i haven't checked prices to see if they're inflated/high demand for this particular evening). If you take the above please let us know what you get, if you'd like to try Priceline let us know and we'll suggest a strategy if you'd like. like2cruise Posted January 8, 2005 Author Report Posted January 8, 2005 Thanks Thereuare. I always trust your opinion. I would really appreciate a bidding strategy so I will post my request on that section. Thanks as always.
like2cruise Posted January 8, 2005 Author Report Posted January 8, 2005 Looking for a hotel in Tampa pre-cruise. Holiday Inn Express or better class of hotel by the pier or in the airport area. If you need additional information, just let me know! Thanks! I will be sure to have them bid through your link as well!
thereuare Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Are they looking for as cheap as possible, or would they prefer a better hotel for a bit more money? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
like2cruise Posted January 9, 2005 Author Report Posted January 9, 2005 Nicer for a bit more money is good...thanks for asking!
thereuare Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 OK, here are my thoughts.I don't think the very low pricing ($40's) is available for a 3* hotel for this date, but i would try that first anyway. You have 3 re-bid zones at the 3* levle and 5 re-bid zones at the 4* level, and this is how i would proceed:Select 3* TPA and...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone1 and...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone 2 and...Bid $55.If rejected close that browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select 4* TPA and...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $77, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $80.If rejected close that browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select 3* TPA and re-bid zone3...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1 and...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone2 and...Bid $70.Hopefully you followed all of the above (and if your friends are doing the bidding you may have to talk them thru it on the phone), but any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.(of course the $57 2.5* on Hotwire could still be an option if they don't want to spend the money, but that's a star level on Hotwire that could get a little scary in a truly opaque purhcase... may be much lesser quality than you expect) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
venus4nu Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 Did you have any luck finding a hotel in Tampa? We are cruising in February and would like to find a room close to the pier. Particularly one which will allow us to leave the van there instead of parking it at the pier. I heard Holiday Inn Express and La Quinta allows you to do this. Also, I want to stay in the same hotel pre and post cruise. Am I better off going to Priceline or Hotwire to accomplish this?
