flozza Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Hi,my girlfriend and I will be in New York from 3/6/2010 - 3/12-2010. We got a room thru priceline for the first three nights, but the next three nights (3/9/2010 - 3/12/2010) seem to be a bit more difficult (I have decided to split the bidding after not being successful with the complete 6 nights). Don't want to spend a lot more than $110 and live central, nice and clean :-)I was just bidding $90, $95, $100 and $105 for MTE, MTW, TS 3.5*+ and all have been rejected. Any ideas? Many Thanks in advance!
thereuare Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Is there a reason you haven't included CPS, MSG, or ESB in your 3.5* bidding? (are there hotels in these zone(s) you're trying to avoid)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
flozza Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 To be honest, no there is no reason. I've just forgotten them, because that was the setting I had for the first three nights. Just did the same again with MTE, MTW, TS, ESB, MSG and CPS ($90 - $105) but all got rejected. I guess I have to go a bit higher then. Or do you think that other parts of Manhatten are 'cheaper' and still ok?Thanks!
AaronJB Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 The Tudor is $118.41 on Orbitz.com on sale for these dates, and coupon code WELCOME10 takes another 10% off, which puts it at $106 and change. I believe that would also be refundable (although please do double check to confirm), so that would be at least a back-up (again, if refundable) not too far from the Roosevelt. Please use the site's Orbitz.com link if this idea is of interest.
flozza Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 great hint, thanks! Unfortunately the reservation has to be paid in advance and is non-refundable. But $106 sound like a good deal for these dates anyway. Will give priceline one more chance and if thats not successful, I'll do it via Orbitz
AaronJB Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Good luck bidding, and please let us know what you decide or if you have any other questions.Thank you for using the site's Orbitz, HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
flozza Posted December 29, 2009 Author Report Posted December 29, 2009 Tried Priceline again today and went up to $115 for 4* and $100 for 3.5*, both attempts not successful. So I finally booked the Tudor through your Orbitz link for $106/night :) Thanks again for your great help!
AaronJB Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Glad to hear that the Orbitz deal worked out. Thanks for using the site's Orbitz link, and enjoy your stay! :)
