JayJay111 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Looking to stay one night, December 29th, in one of the two Priceline categories:South Beach - Collins Avenue Oceanfront South Beach - Ocean Drive4* preferred, but also considering 3.5*I've saw a successful bid in the Collins avenue area for $122, and $220 in the Ocean Drive area. I have a very flexible budget but am just looking for advice on what to bid. I've never used PRICELINE before. I am thinking of bidding on Monday, December 28th in the hopes of getting a better deal. This is a staycation, so if it doesn't come through, no sweat. Thanks for your help or advice.
thereuare Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are date specific, so winning bids for dates other than your own may be meaningless in terms of your own stay, if demand (and therefore rates) for your own dates are substantially different than the wins for dates you're referring to.Since your plans are so open and flexible, we'll take it one step at a time... how high are you willing to bid on a 4* hotel in either of the two zones you mention above? If you have no idea, you should first do a little research to determine the best deal you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for this stay, then determine your maximum bid based upon some discount to this 'best available rate' (a discount to this alternate hotel to compensate for the 'unknown' factor of an opaque purchase)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
