Hotwire Hotel: 3* Miami (Airport MIA) Holiday Inn Doral

Hi All

I need to book a pre-cruise hotel in Miami for January 8th for 4 people leaving on a cruise on the 9th. Downtown or airport. Would like something with a breakfast included...would prefer 2 queen beds (but haven't been able to find much with 2Qs). We'll be arriving very late, so really just looking for something very clean and comfortable.

Any recommendations/advice would be appreciated.

What would your desired budget per night be? Additionally, if you require 2 beds, PRICELINE would not be an ideal option, as the service only guarantees double occupancy/1 bed. I would instead suggest HOTWIRE.com, and searching for either 2 adults/2 kids or 4 adults. Searching for 4 on HOTWIRE would not guarantee 2 queens - there is no way to guarantee specific bedding - but would ensure some sort of bedding for your entire party. If you search for your dates on HOTWIRE, are there any listings that would fit for your budget and location?

Breakfast is only ensured if a free breakfast amenity icon is showing on a particular HOTWIRE listing.

If you search HOTWIRE for your dates for 4adults (assuming you're 4adults, if not try also searching 2adults/2children) does anything appear in the airport or downtown zone within your budget and desired star rating?

When I search, I get two airport listings:

$63 for a 3 star

$86 for a 3.5 star

and one downtown:

3 stars at $159

This is for January 8th.

Does anyone have a good guess on what hotels these could be?

Are you willing to spend $75-$100 more for a hotel in the Downtown zone for this stay?

Airport 3* for $63 - Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-Speed Internet Access

Airport 3.5* for $86 - Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access

Downtown 3* for $159 - Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (I'd only be willing to go downtown if it's something really nice)

For the airport hotels, best guess for the 3.5* is the Doubletree Miami Mart Airprot Hotel while the 3* matches the Holiday Inn Doral (aka Holiday Inn Airport West) so that would be my best guess for each of these.

The Downtown property has not yet been reported to the board or identified.

I booked the 3* at $63... and it was the Holiday Inn Doral/Airport West. If they're still running the airport and port shuttles...it'll be like the hotel is free!
