lobo-us Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 Good day. We'd like to spend a few last minute days sightseeing in NY City starting now (12/26) and trying to get out just before NY eve to avoid the higher cost of the hotels and the crowds. Traveling with 2 adults and two 10 year olds.Looking for advice for which days we might still get a good rate for a hotel and by when we should leave.Looking for central location and a typical Hampton Inn level hotel would be fine.Thank You!

lobo-us Posted December 25, 2009 Author Report Posted December 25, 2009 Arrival 12/26 and the leaving before new years eve to avoid the crowd and cost. Can you say which day that would have to be?Thanks
thereuare Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 I'm assuming you're only looking for one room? If so, i wouldn't recommend that you use PRICELINE since they only guarnatee double occupancy, and in NYC there are a high proportion of rooms that only have one bed (with little or no room for a rollaway, even if available/offered by the hotel)Have you tried searching HOTWIRE (2adults/2children) for the following dates:12/26-12/3112/26-12/3012/26-12/2912/26-12/28I'm guessing you'll start to see an increase in prices when you begin to include the nite of the 28th (checking out 12/29)... does anything in any of the date ranges above appear within your desired star rating, zone, and budget? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
