I used the HOTWIRE link at the top of the page to purchase the rooms.

Notes: I wanted to stay at the Grand Hotel Amrath because of its proximity to the central train station.

Based on the amenities, I was pretty sure the Grand Hotel Amrath was the 5* hotel in the City Center & Museum Quarter listed on Hotwire for $119/night.

I then looked on Priceline for a 5* in the same area. On three consecutive days, I placed three bids ranging from $98 to $110 for a 5* in the city center on Priceline (using the link at the top of the page), all of which were rejected. However, with each rejection, Priceline suggested I increase my bid by $22, which exceeded the Hotwire price. In the same period, Priceline and other travel web sites offered the Grand Hotel Amrath at approximately $250/night.
