Brian Grove Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 I am trying to determine which hotel is currently showing up with 3.5* in Fort Lauderdale (Las Olas - Downtown - Port Everglades Hotel) on Hotwire for $154 a night.Amenity icons: Smoke Free Rooms, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, and High-speed Internet AccessThis almost looks like the Riverside Hotel, however, all of the posts in this forum indicate that I should also see a Laundry amenity icon as well, and this listing doesn't show a Laundry amenity icon. Also, most successful bidders for Riverside Hotel seem to get it for under $100 a night and this listing is showing $154 a night for 1/15/2010 through 1/17/2010.Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
AaronJB Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Welcome to Betterbidding! :)Unfortunately, this property has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. It does not match the previously reported amenity set for the Riverside and the tripadvisor rating shown on the detail page does not match (although the tripadvisor ratings are not "live" and may have changed recently.) I also thought a downgraded Renaissance may be a possibility, but that also doesn't match on the tripadvisor rating. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.Additionally, rates can vary quite a bit from day-to-day and price does not indicate which hotel the listing may or may not be.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
thereuare Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Not sure of your needs for this stay or how firm your budget is, but for a little bit more you can get what appears to be the well reviewed Renaissance.Would this work for your plans and/or be of any interest? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. koolforkatz Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 I can confirm this is the Riverside - I just got it at $99 It was $94 this morning but I just had to try one more time on Priceline. :) Funny thing is I've bid just about this high on Priceline for a 3.5 star in that area and still couldn't get anything. A 3.5 star at $99 was good enough for me and I'm happy with this choice.Hope this helps others!
thereuare Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 koolforkatz,Thanks for the post. Can you please add the details of your purchase to the board as a NEW TOPIC so that others will be aware of it when searching the topic titles of the board as well as the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins. In your post please include the dates, rater per nite, amenities shown before your purchase, etc... all of which you can still view by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.THANKS! thereuare Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 I can confirm this is the Riverside...Note that the amenities in the original post above differ from those reported in your Hotwire Downtown Ft Lauderdale thread for the Riverside Hotel... the property above showed a Hi-Speed Internet icon, the Riverside Hotel you purchased did not. While the above may still yet prove to be the Riverside Hotel (as it certainly is close) i wouldn't make that conclusion with too high a degree of certainty. koolforkatz Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Oops! My mistake - you're absolutely right...
Brian Grove Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 Hi guys, I ended up using Orbitz to book the Hampton Inn in downtown Fort Lauderdale. I was very concerned about location - I didn't want to stay near the port but instead wanted to be right downtown. Thanks for all of your help.
thereuare Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Thanks for 'closing' this thread with your decision for this trip. For future travel, please note as per our support page that we are an affilate of both Orbitz and the Hampton Inn... please use the links in our support page for your future travel purchases.
