cafedelmar Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Hey everyone,Looking to go to NYC and find a hotel for December 24-26 nights. Willing to stay in the following areas: MSG, ESB, MTW, MTE, CPS, TS; 3* or up for $100+fees per night. Is this even possible at this price? If so, does anyone have any bidding strategies? Thanks for the help!
thereuare Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Under $100 in NYC is somewhat rare, but these should be somewhat slow nites in the city and it looks like it will be possible. To give it a try i'd bid as follows:Select 3* MTE, MTW, CPS...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MSG, TS, ESB...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MSG, MTW, CPS...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MTE, TS, ESB...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MTE, TS, CPS...Bid $75, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MSG, MTW, ESB...Bid $75, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MTE, MTW, ESB...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MSG, TS, CPS...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MTE, MTW, ESB, MSG...Bid $85, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MTE, MTW, ESB,TS...Bid $85, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MTE, MTW, ESB, CPS...Bid $85, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* MTE, MTW, ESB, MSG, TS, CPS...Bid $88If the above is rejected HOTWIRE has a 3* offered in the MTE zone with Restaurant, Fitness, Internet, Business for which my best guess is the Radisson Lexington and you can purchase that, assuming this property is acceptable to you. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Any questions feel free to ask.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. cafedelmar Posted December 20, 2009 Author Report Posted December 20, 2009 Thanks for the tips. Going through the steps, and so far, no luck unfortunately. How much is the property that Hotwire has listed?
AaronJB Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 I'm seeing the MTE 3* for $89 when I search on HOTWIRE, although the price you see may differ slightly. There are also a few other properties just a bit over $100, such as a 3* in the Times Square zone.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
thereuare Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Yes, the HOTWIRE is/was $89 which is why i stopped the PRICELINE bidding short of your $100 limit... does that HOTWIRE offer work for your needs? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.PS- please read your messages, thanks Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cafedelmar Posted December 20, 2009 Author Report Posted December 20, 2009 Unfortunately the cheapest I'm getting on Hotwire is $119.Msgs read!
AaronJB Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Are you searching for more than 2 people in the room?
cafedelmar Posted December 20, 2009 Author Report Posted December 20, 2009 Are you searching for more than 2 people in the room?I figured it out. When I put 26th, I meant I want to stay that night as well. So really, staying from 24-27 - sorry for the confusion.
AaronJB Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Unfortunately, I think it's 12/26-27 that is causing the problem, as that appears quite a bit more expensive than 12/24-26. You could continue bidding up to $100, or there is a 3* for $115 in MTE for 12/24-27 on HOTWIRE.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.

cafedelmar Posted December 21, 2009 Author Report Posted December 21, 2009 Thanks for the help everyone. Ended up going with the Hotwire $115, as I was pretty sure it was the Radisson Lexington, and liked the location. Ended up being the Radisson Lexington as suspectedNow to find a place to park nearby!
thereuare Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and happy with the results. As i've been posting a lot (it seems) lately, give Ess-A-Bagel a try for breakfast one morning. It's an easy walk from this property (Third Ave at 51st St) and has one of the best bagels in the city, making for a good and inexpensive breakfast among locals.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Enjoy your stay.
