Priceline Hotel: 3.5* San Diego (Del Mar-Rancho Santa Fe) Marriott Del Mar

Saw a 3* Rancho Bernardo $44 rate for Sept that would have been fine. Decided to try 3.5* first.

First bid $45 for Del Mar - Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego Costal, and Rancho Bernardo, as any of these areas would have worked for us.

Second bid $50 added National City for free re-bid. Was surprised and delighted to win.

Hotel is in a great location if you want to be near the coast and not downtown. Perhaps we won because it was a Sunday night stay. The self-park lot is $16, but you can park on the street behind the hotel for free. Marriott web site rate for our night was $199, although now it is $119 (for 12/20/09).

EDIT: Don't know why the price isn't on line 2 of the subject. The date we were there was 12/13/09
