When you do follow-up this thread, can you please clarify the zone, hotel, and dates of your stay... your topic title indicates you won a hotel in Santa Monica, but the Sheraton Gateway LAX is in the Airport LAX zone. Was the date of your stay 12/17 as well OR was that only the date of your purchase and your stay is on a different dates?

Also, please include the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page.

I purchased the hotel on 12/17/09, for a one night's stay on 12/19/09. I had searched santa monica on hotwire and was given this hotel, which I thought was strange but figured it was close enough. (I am from Los Angeles so the drive doesnt seem too bad).

Amenities were:

Airport Shuttle

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-speed Internet Access

Price listed was $59, after all taxes and fees room was $74.

When you search HOTWIRE, they will not only show you properties in the zone you searched for, but also for nearby zones as well... i'm guessing you selected a 4* hotel in the Los Angeles (Airport LAX) zone, which was also offered when searching for Santa Monica.

While not the area you originally set out for, glad to see you're happy with the results and can make this work well for your plans.
