I plan on taking a trip from february 2- february 5th to california and want to stay in a hotel in the huntington/newport beach area. is it better to bid for a hotel (and possibly rental car) on priceline closer to the day i will be staying (ie a month or few weeks before) to get the best rate or is it just as good to bid ahead of time? also, does anyone have a link to a guide that's EASY to understand on how to get multiple bids in less than 24 hours on priceline (i watched some youtube videos and they were not descriptive enough, since i've only bid (and won) a hotel on priceline once). any advice is greatly appreciated!!!! :)

bid on priceline, won for $60 a night (right on the beach). didnt try too hard at bidding (probably could have saved a few bucks) but tried a few weeks ago and lost with a $70 bid. So I started and just put in $60 for the heck of it and got this beauty of a hotel. I'm happy...
