yobo Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Have 1 room at the MCO Marriott for Jan 10 but now need two. Reading through these posts it sounds like it's "won" a lot, but I don't ever see it as an option on Hotwire. I keep looking for 3.5 * with tennis, pool, shuttle, bus., laundry, restaraunt... Is that correct? I'd appreciate any help!
thereuare Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Have 1 room at the MCO Marriott for Jan 10...Did you purchase this thru PRICELINE or HOTWIRE? If so, please share the details of your purchase with the board so that it will appear in our Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins and the information can best help other users. Then reply to this thread and we'll have a look at your question above. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. thereuare Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I've moved your post with the details of your win to this Priceline Marriott Orlando Airport thread... thanks for posting the win. From the Hotwire Hotel List the last known report of the Marriott was at the 3* level with the following amenities: Airport Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business, Tennis, Laundry. However, this was back in 2004 so the star rating and/or amenities may have changed since then.HOTWIRE will only show one hotel at each star level in each zone (the hotel with the lowest price is offered) so for a new hotel to appear you'd need the current offering to sell, pull, or raise the price of the rooms alloted to HOTWIRE OR for a different hotel to offer HOTWIRE a lower price for these dates than the current offering. How long ago did you win the PRICELINE bid? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. yobo Posted December 18, 2009 Author Report Posted December 18, 2009 The Priceline win was a month ago. Thanks for the help.
thereuare Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Since your previous win was a month ago i don't think you have much of an edge in hitting the Marriott (vs. if your stay was just a day or two ago)... basically it comes down to if you need the Marriott and are willing to pay for it, at which point i'd book thru a non-opque source; vs. if you want the Marriott but would 'settle' for a good deal elsewhere, at which point i'd try bidding on PRICELINE for the same exact amount of your previous winning bid. This wouldn't be the most optimal bidding strategy, nor the most efficient, but that's what i would do if you were trying to target a second room at the same hotel.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. yobo Posted December 18, 2009 Author Report Posted December 18, 2009 That's just what I ended up doing...I pricelined it keeping my fingers crossed that we'd all be together and it worked! I bid $38 and it was accepted on the first try. 1/10 for 1 night. Used your PRICELINE link.
thereuare Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you received the same hotel (at an even better price than your previous purchase) and it all worked out well in the end!Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
