sylvaine Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 I need to spend one night near SFO airport on 2/6. I'm not flying back until 2/21 and will need to park my car for 14-15 days. The parking bill alone would probably amount to $130+...Based on other posters' reviews, it sounds like my best bet would be to secure a room at Embassy Suites; mention at check-in that I'll be leaving my car; and either pay nothing or perhaps an additional $20 or so.I get the impression that it is virtually impossible to get this hotel as a "sure thing" on Priceline (if it were not for the parking issue, it wouldn't matter if I got the Hyatt or the Sheraton).Checking Hotwire, I don't believe this property (Embassy Suites SFO Airport South) is currently being offered. Is the other Embassy Suites (SFO Airport Oyster Point) ever offered? Any suggestions for another hotel that would accomodate my parking needs at a reasonable cost? Thanks!

On my last Hotwire stay at the Burlingame Embassy Suites, I did *not* mention my leaving my car for two weeks. Nor did the clerk at check-in even ask if I was parking a car. No auto information such as make, model, license plate number, etc was ever asked for. In other words, parking at this hotel is pretty much "don't ask, don't tell." Yes, you're right, neither Burlingame or South San Francisco Embassy Suites are showing on Hotwire for your travel date. The Sheraton is very close to the ES. Hyatt perhaps 1/2 mile away (within eyesite). I can only wonder how many people staying at nearby hotels actually park their cars at ES.
sylvaine Posted January 6, 2005 Author Report Posted January 6, 2005 Thanks for the info. Since I still have a month to go before that trip, I'll check Hotwire regularly to see if ES pops up later; I guess it should be fairly easy to spot unless Hotwire doesn't list ALL the appropriate icons? Although it's tempting, I'm not sure I would take the chance to stay somewhere else and park at ES; there is always the possibility they might start taking licence plates at registration; after a transatlantic flight, the last thing I need is to find out that my vehicle has been impounded!Has the South San Francisco ES been "identified" at Hotwire? I didn't see it on the sticky list.
thereuare Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 The ES Airport South? sylvaine Posted January 7, 2005 Author Report Posted January 7, 2005 I know this is a little confusing. There are two Embassy Suites in the SFO Airport vincinity: one in Burlingame (listed in the SFO Airport South-Burlingame zone on Hotwire) and another one in South San Francisco (which would be listed in the SFO Airport North-Oyster Bay zone). I couldn't find the latter on the sticky list and didn't see any post indicating that someone had gotten that particular property through Hotwire. That's why I was wondering if it had ever been offered (based on BEAV's experience, I probably could get "free" parking at that ES, too).
sylvaine Posted February 22, 2005 Author Report Posted February 22, 2005 Just got back from my trip. Since the cost of parking my car was the "deal-breaker", I had booked a cancelable conventional reservation for Embassy Suites. Unfortunately, that property never showed up on Hotwire... However, I'm happy to report that I was able to leave my car in the hotel parking lot for two weeks without paying any parking fee. No hassle, either. A good deal, everything considered.
