norry Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Topic says it all. 3* was the best I could find in Zone 2. Tried $37 which was the lowest I could go without getting the "hardly ever accepted" message, re-bid $38, re-bid $39, accepted. Considering the final price (w/ taxes and fees) is $95 for two days, and that it's normally $99/night plus taxes, I'm pretty happy.Used the link to connect to PRICELINE - thanks for your service!
AaronJB Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Congratulations on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding! :)Very, very nice discount for this Holiday Inn property. One note - bids may still be accepted even when the "hardly ever accepted" message is showing.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
norry Posted December 17, 2009 Author Report Posted December 17, 2009 One note - bids may still be accepted even when the "hardly ever accepted" message is showing.Actually, I wanted to ask about that. It looked like there was "almost no chance," "low chance" (or something similar), and then the normal level. Has anyone figured out a percentage chance of success that goes with each one? I was operating on the assumption that the lowest they'd accept was close to the minimum where "low chance" disappeared, and this seemed to be the case, but should I start lower next time?
thereuare Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Since we've seen accepted bids weven when the low chance and no chance messages appeared, as well as seen rejections, the message is basically meaningless and can't be used for any insight as to an appropriate bid amount.
