heski
Hi,I'm a second time Priceline user and still finding my feet. Seeking any guidance you could provide for a stay in New Orleans from 4/22/10 to 4/25/10 (or possibly from 4/23/10). Looking to stay in the French Qtr at a 3star (or preferably 3.5 star). Hoping to pay less than $125. There will be a few of us - are hotels likely to offer better rates if we search for multiple rooms? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Depending upon just how many rooms you need, it's usually a non-issue, but if it does have an effect, it's more of a negative one than a positive one. When will your plans (check-in date, number or rooms needed, number of guests per room, etc) be finalized? Are you willing to spend more for a 3.5* vs. a 3* or is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. heski
Thanks for your quick reply. I will be checking in 4/22. We would potentially be willing to pay more for 3.5* if it was a small differential, but the primary goal is to find the least expensive 3*Thanks again. Link to comment
AaronJB
Please let us know how many in the party and how many rooms you need and we would be happy to look at what options are available. Link to comment
swag
HOTWIRE has a 3* in the FQ for about $59 for those dates. Probably the Saint Louis Hotel. That's a very good price for a Jazzfest weekend in the Quarter. Link to comment
heski
Wow. Thanks.I will look into that. We will need two rooms from 22/04/09 and two more rooms from 23/04/09 but I would be happy for you guys to limit your advice to one room from the 22/04/09 (for me) and I can proceed with that info.In the meantime I will have a look into HOTWIRE.Thanks again! heski
Having just read some fairly unflattering reviews of the St Louis hotel, I will probably limit our search to 3.5* stars. Happy to hear any guidance you have on 4/22/09 - 4/25/09, two rooms, 3.5* stars, french quarter.Thank you. Link to comment

heski
Hi,Hoping for a strategy for priceline at those terms.Thank you. Link to comment
thereuare
This dates are the beginnig of Jazzfest, so I'm not sure $125 will currently be enough for these dates, but to give it a try...At the 3.5* level you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 3.5* French Quarter...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* French Quarter and re-bid zone3...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $95, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* French Quarter and re-bid zone4...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* French Quarter and re-bid zone3 and re-bid zone4...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $125Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. heski
Thanks for your help - the rebidding strategy is great. After a few attempts I decreased the star rating to 3* and entered a max bid of $145 but was unsuccessful at that price. Thanks again. Link to comment
