Sanja Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 $64 ...................... 12/28/09 - 1/02/10I wish I read this forum before I tried Priceline. PL suggested me to increase my bid by $14 and I was in a hurry to book the rooms so I went for it...Final deal --Price Per Room, Per Night: $64.00Rooms: 2Taxes & Fees: $95.70Total Charges: $735.70Booked the rooms on 12/14/09.

Sanja Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 Correction to my original post - booked the rooms on 11/14/2009.I read somewhere that I could have increased the bid by half of what PL suggested, which is $7-$8 and my bid would probably get accepted. Does anyone know if this strategy works (to counter-offer only 50% of the suggested bid increase)?Just looked on Expedia, my rooms are now going for $189 per night for the dates that I booked. :)
AaronJB Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 The strategy does work and is often used, although there are occasionally some situations where it cannot be used. Please read this thread about Priceline Re-bidding. Let us know if you have any questions.
