Hey Everyone!

I am going to NYC from 12/30/09- to 1/1/10. Im trying to find a 3* ( or higher ) hotel somewhere close to madison square garden. I need two rooms or one room with two queen beds. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think you're budget is going to be enough for these dates...

PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, so if you were to use PRICELINE you'd have bid for two rooms, making your budget $200/nite (which i'm assuming is 'all-in' ... making your bid price ~$165/nite)

HOTWIRE does allow you to search for up to quad occupancy, but unfortunately searching for 4adults for your dates above doesn't offer any hotels within Manhattan (regardless of your budget)

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.

Yea, thats what i figured. My friend and I are willing to pay as much as it takes to stay in the city. Its really her sister and sisters husband that put a cap on $400 being the most they would chip in. They want to find a hotel in NJ if its cheaper but my friend and i may just stay at the Red Roof Inn in Manhattan. Thats where we usually stay. I just wanted to see if there was anything available around that price that we could all stay together. Oh well.. :) All i know is that im not sleeping on the floor lol. So we may have to get different hotels.

Thanks for your help.

right now... about $718 for 2nights ( Price went up by $20 within the last 2 days ). Its a Queen size bed. the room is pretty big for a NYC hotel and its less than 3 minute walk to the empire state building. Also, its recently renovated.

Not sure if $718 is 'all-in' or before taxes and fees, but if before...

Expedia has the Renaissance Hotel 57 for $359/nite and using coupon code 09NOV10 takes $10 offer per nite. If your rate above is before taxes and fees, this would be about the same and offer a higher rated hotel.

Update: My friend ended up calling the Red Roof Inn Manhattan directly and she booked the stay for $620. The online price is showing $718 ( good thing she called and didnt book on their site ). The rooms are larger than normal NYC hotels also.
