Hi, many thanks for your help.

I will definitely use your links when booking. On that note, we have put off booking our hotel until we know more about the BA cabin crew strike as we have already booked our flights (heard a story that BA's lawyers might have the strike pushed back until after the Christmas season in which case it would affect our flights).

Do you know if we could still get a decent price a few days before flying out? do the prices fluctuate as you get closer to the date?

Rates fluctuate based upon supply/demand... rates can go down as you get closer to your arrival, but likewise they can also head higher; it's all relative to occupancy levels and the number of reservations/cancellations a hotel receives.
