Karel Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Hello,Greetings from Belgium. We are going to NYC in Feb. 2010 (02/10 - 02/17). It's our first time in NYC and we are looking for a hotel.Prefered zone(s): 1. Times Square - Theatre District 2. Midtown West 3. Midtown EastWe would like a 4* hotel not exceeding $150 (including taxes).#1 What strategy should we use?#2 Do we have a higher change on winning a bid when bidding closer to the dates we want to stay?Tx in advance for the help!Cheers, K&J
thereuare Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Winter is usually a slow season in NYC, but the 'problem' you may encounter is that your stay includes Valentine's Day, when rates often spike. If you are successful at $150 'all-in' (only about $125 bid price) i would consider it to be a very good deal, so i wouldn't hesitate to begin bidding now.At the 4* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* TS, MTE, and MTW...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125Any questions feel free to ask.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
RobertoGP Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I recently won on priceline the 4* Royalton MTW 02/14/10 thru 02/19/10 for $128 or $154 'all-in'.I think you have great chances and you should start bidding :)
