domse86 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Hello, this is my first time on priceline and i would buy a hotel in new york centre.my girlfriend has searched the roosevelt hotel and i think it is a good one.our dates are march 24. to march 28. 2010.how can i save that the hotel i get is the roosevelt? is there a trick to be save?the normal price on a german hotel-search-machine is 129 $ without tax and fee.i think if i get the hotel for 100$ without fee and tax it is a good price.at last a formal question to get save. is it right, that there are all double-rooms? so i pay this maybe 100$ for two persons?thank you for your help.big greets from berlin city
AaronJB Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Welcome to Betterbidding! :)There is not a way to ensure getting the Roosevelt via PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. Both services are discount services where one must be at least somewhat flexible on what hotel they may end up in.PRICELINE reservations guarantee double (2 person) occupancy, but do not guarantee more than 1 bed.HOTWIRE reservations are for double occupancy (1 bed) less more than 2 people are indicated when booking the reservation. Are you willing to accept a similar hotel in the same area as the Roosevelt, or were you only interested in that property? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
domse86 Posted December 14, 2009 Author Report Posted December 14, 2009 Thanks for your answer,i think PRICELINE is the right way for me, because it is no problem with one bed for two persons.maybe i will accept other hotels too, in this area, but my first wish is the roosevelt hotel.are there any tipps to bidd, to get the hotel?what should i try to bid?greets
thereuare Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 are there any tipps to bidd, to get the hotel? As noted above, you can't bid on, or target, a specfic hotel with PRICELINE. If you use PRICELINE you must be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you select. With HOTWIRE, the amenities are shown before your purchase and you can often take an educated guess as to the hotel you will receive, but still no guarantees.I will also note that while this hotel is "fine", i'm not sure why you're trying to target this particular property, as there are other hotels in the city which are better reviewed than this one, imo. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. domse86 Posted December 15, 2009 Author Report Posted December 15, 2009 Hello everybody, yesterday I wrote my first New Topic (The Roosevelt Hotel), but now I have changed my decision just to take only the Roosevelt. I've seen, that there are more and better Hotels in the Times square-District.So I would like a hotel with 3,5 stars or more in this District from march 24 to march 28 2010.I think about 100$ per night it is a good deal. Can I have some Tipps to bidd from you Pro's?Thank you very much.
thereuare Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Please keep all posts for this stay in the same thread. At the moment i think success at $100 or less is not that likely, but if you want to give it a try...At the 3.5* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* Times Square...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
