needafourstar Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I would appreciate any thoughts on the chances of landing a 4* hotel in Central Park South, Midtown West or Times Square for a one night stay on Sunday, December 27, 2009 for a bid of $150. Also any info on which hotels I may be in the running for would be great. We will be hitting both Lincoln Center and Time Warner Center so further West and North is definitely a plus.
AaronJB Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Welcome to Betterbidding! :)The list of PRICELINE wins for NYC that have been reported to the board can be found on the site's Priceline Hotel List for the state.Based on the rates that I'm seeing for hotels in this area, $150 is worth trying, but my guess is that a 4* bid for a hotel in these zones - based upon rates I'm seeing for this particular date (which vary quite a bit; many hotels are showing very high rates, but others more moderate prices) - very well may end up requiring a bid of as much as $175-195.The Shoreham (last reported as a 4* in MTW) is showing for $229 regular rate - making it look to be the lowest of the regular rate Midtown 4*'s - but that hotel has not been reported as a PRICELINE win in about a year, and has rarely been seen reported to the board in general. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
needafourstar Posted December 15, 2009 Author Report Posted December 15, 2009 Thanks very much. I figured that this was going to be a tough bid considering the holiday season. I appreciate the feedback though.
thereuare Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 If you're having trouble with this bid i'd also consider adding other nearby zones which may be equally acceptable... MTE and ESB typically are just as convenient for the average visitor's needs.Keep us updated and let us know if we can be of additional help along the way. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
