I am such a newbie to Priceline,

I am wondering if anyone is kind enough to teach me some strategy on bidding?

My plan is to stay in New York city (Prefer Manhattan) for just one night (12/16)

Hopefully 3.5* or more

My budget is about $130

Please give me some help

What PRICELINE zones would you be interested in staying in, and is your budget of $130 "all-in" (does it include taxes/fees) or is it the budget for the bid?

My budget of 130 doesn't include taxes/fees ( hope it's enough for Manhattan area hotel)

I don't mind about any certain zone in Manhattan but Brooklyn and long island city

I'll definitely use the PRICELINE link you provided to bid on those hotels

$130 should be enough for a 3.5* and possibly even enough for a 4*... did you want to try for the highest rated hotel within your budget OR is are you looking for the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay?

Also, for most, Downtown is a little less convenient than the midtown area, did want to include Downtown in your bidding?
