Priceline Hotel: Best time to bid

Do accepted PL hotel prices sometimes become lower the closer one gets to the actual dates, and is there a best time to bid (ie. weeks or months in advance) - in this case for rooms in February?

Is there a list of PRICELINE hotel participants for Paris, Prague and Amsterdam?

There is no magic formula for the "right" time to (neither time of day or length of time before your stay)... best to know what a 'good deal' would be for your dates/timeframe and test the waters with some lowball bids, then gradually increase as you get closer to your check-in date(s). Are many Paris hotels routinely charging PL customers a 'city tax' at check out?

Recently someone posted of such an experience, 9 euros per person per day, but it's unclear how common this practice is in Paris.

The 5* Plaza Athenee has a 1.50 Euro per person/per day charge, for example, but I'm guessing this practice varies by hotel.

PL's Paris map lists the Montparnasse area twice, once in 'Eiffel Tower - Port De Versailles - Montparnasse' and again in 'St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse'.

If bidding for the latter area is there any risk of getting a hotel listed as Montparnasse from the Eiffel Tower - Port De Versailles - Montparnasse area?

Your hotel will be anywhere within the boundaries of the zone as indicated on the map. Some zones have names that don't correspond perfectly with the actual zone (ie- a "downtown" zone that extends beyond what many consider to be 'downtown') and you should always use the map to determine the 'true' location of where your hotel could be.

I have recently stayed at two Paris hotels booked on PRICELINE (Novotel, Les Halles and Mercure Suffren Tour Eiffel). Neither charged any extras.
