Donna55 Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 I would greatly appreciate Priceline bidding assistance. I've only ever done this once before years ago and at that time, I used a free online service which I entered my preferences and the site provided exactly how to bid. I'm looking for a 4 star for 12/20-12/22 preferably in Times Square, but I'm okay with Midtown Central, Midtown East, as well as other areas not too far from Times Square. It's for 3 adults but 2 of them are 18 so I'm not too worried about the bed configuration as the teenagers can sleep on the floor if necessary. I'd like to keep the cost under $200/night, but would be really happy to keep the cost around $150/night.Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
AaronJB Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)These are definitely more reasonable dates, and staying within your budget will be quite easy. Even if you were to select 2 adults and 1 child on HOTWIRE (in an attempt to ensure bedding for 3; one of the 18 year olds could pretend to be 17), there's a 4* in Midtown Central on HOTWIRE for these dates (smoke-free, fitness, business, restaurant, internet) for $134 (my guess would be the Sheraton NY and Towers.) In terms of bidding, I think $110 is certainly possible (you could also try $105 if you wanted to see if a lowball bid would be accepted) for a 4* in MTW or MTE. TS would be more costly, although still well within your budget. If you would prefer the lowest, MTE or MTW would likely be the best possibilities, but if you would prefer TS, let us know and we could make suggestions as to how to proceed bidding for that zone. There are also a number of nice properties within your budget at regular rate, including the new Kimpton property Ink48 ($191 via Orbitz, but coupon codes WELCOME10 or FABSAVE10 should work for 10% off.)Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE or Orbitz.com.
Donna55 Posted December 11, 2009 Author Report Posted December 11, 2009 Thanks for your help! I was able to get the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers for $115 per night for 12/20 to 12/22.
AaronJB Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Congratulations on your success! Wow! Certainly a superb deal, coming in well under budget for a great location! Glad I could be of help. :)Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Enjoy your stay.
