Priceline Hotel: Help with bidding in nyc!

Hello everyone,

My wife and I are traveling to NYC and checking in on December 11th and checking out December 15th. This is our first time to NYC and only want to have a good time while seeing a new place. We want to be close to the subway and able to travel around NYC easily. Our budget for hotel stay is roughly $125 a night (Max average) all inclusive. The only published (decent) hotels at this price are in Long island city. I would really like to know how to get a 3 1/2* or 4* hotel for the same price in an area in manhattan if possible. If it is possible, where are the zones that I should look at? and how should I bid for the best deal?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Betterbidding! :)

These are busy/pricey dates in NYC; unfortunately, $125 (all-in, which I'll guess is a bid of about $105-108) is not going to be enough for a 3.5* or 4* for these dates. That *may* be enough for a 3* for these dates, but I'll guess that the chances are limited. What areas are you interested in staying?

Thanks for the reply,

I'll stay anywhere that is close to transportation in NYC. I'm not too picky, I just don't want to pay more than I have to, and I want to be able to stop by the hotel in the middle of the day to drop bags off or take a nap without too much hassle.

Ill make sure I use the links and thanks for the site too

What should I look to bid? or where should I stay for the price I want to pay?

Based upon current prices, I don't think your budget is realistic for a hotel in Manhattan for these dates.

You're going to have to compromise someplace... either in price or convenience, but i'm guessing you're not in the right ballpark at the moment in regards to price.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.
