lucky400 Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 This is my first time using betterbidding. I just found your site. I am going to be in Lafayette, LA from 12/31/09 to 1/3/09. I looked on Hotwire and I am interested in the following listings:3 star Lafayette Hotel Room for $39airport shuttleexercise equip.poolrestaurantbusiness centerinternet accesslaundryAlso the other hotel I am interested in is:2 star lafayette hotel room for $36continental breakfastpoollaundryAny suggestions as to what hotels these might be. Thanks for your help
thereuare Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Neither of the above properties have been identified, if i were to take a guess...Does the 3* also show a Tennis icon? I'd speculate this one may be the Crowne Plaza or the Holiday Inn (the latter with a new amenity combination since previously reported to the board)The 2* i'm currently seeing only shows a Breakfast and Pool icon (no Laundry icon for the one i'm seeing on a HOTWIRE search for your dates)... perhaps the Days Inn, Ramada, or Americas Best Value Inn?? :)As i'm seeing different amenities for each of the hotels you've listed, are you searching for more than one room or for more than the default 2adults/0children?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. lucky400 Posted December 8, 2009 Author Report Posted December 8, 2009 Yes the 3* does show a tennis icon, I forgot to put that down. Do you have any idea which Holiday Inn it might be? Also I put down 1 room 2 adults with 1 child. The 2 * I see definitely shows a laundry icon. I also see a 2 1/2 star for $59 with just a complimentary breakfast icon. Any ideas for that one?Do you think I would do better on PRICELINE? Any idea what hotels Priceline is using? Thanks for all your help. When I bid I will definitely use your links.
thereuare Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Do you think I would do better on PRICELINE? Any idea what hotels Priceline is using? How do you define 'better'? PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than hotwire, but HOTWIRE enables you to know the amenities offered by the hotel in case there is something in particular you're looking for (complimentary breakfast, pool, restaurant on premises, etc) from this stay. You can see the hotels reported to the board in this area in our Priceline Hotel List (there could be others not yet reported to the board, see the comments at the top of the hotel list)However, note that HOTWIRE only guarantees double occupancy... after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. As it appears you're traveling with 2adults/1child, it's possible that you receive a hotel with only one bed... would you still be able to make this work for your needs should this occur and the hotel unable to give you a room with two beds or deliver a rollaway? Thanks in advance for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for your purchases.
