Hotwire Hotel: 5* Vienna Hilton Plaza

I've done my research on this hotel, and this seems to be a borderline 4*/5*. Le Meridien's website lists it at 4*, but 7 of 8 booking services lists it as 5*. The Priceline retail site is the only listing of 4*.

I've gotten mostly $341 per night rate average from the various sites, but Expedia is the only one that broke it down by each night. The first two days, Mon and Tue, were $323 per night, but Wed was $377. I have yet to find events or conventions to account for this difference.

Hotwire has a 5* for $119 for those days, and the amenities appear to be Le Meridien. I realize I'm being pretty anal by booking and paying for nights nine months in advance, but that's an issue that I'll have to address with my therapist. I tried bids on Priceline up to $115 for those nights, and I was given the traditional $22 upbid notice.

If I bid $119 on Priceline for a 5* compared to buying the $119 5* on Hotwire, I may end up with Le Meridien either way. I won't know since I won't buy on both.

Sorry for long novel, but I was interested in what some opinions might be for this request. This is my first trip to Vienna, and maybe my last, who knows, so I want to get a nice place.

I've never been to Vienna, but the reviews of the Le Meridien appear to be quite good.

However, the 5* hotel i'm seeing when searching HOTWIRE for your dates above don't match previous reports for the amenities associated with the Le Meridien... what are the amenities associated with the HOTWIRE hotel you're being offered and refering to?

The amenities listed are Boutique Hotel, Fitness Center, Restaurants, Business Center, High Speed Internet, and Spa.

I guess "Boutique Hotel" is kind of subjective, but the other amenities seem to fit Le Meridien, and really most 5*. I'm not really trying to downplay the quality of Le Meridien. I agree with you that it is a highly rated hotel. I'm just trying to see if anyone can ascertain or guess if Hotwire and Priceline are offering the same hotel.

There is no way to tell what hotel you will receive thru PRICELINE. As well, if the above is the Le Meridien, it would be a new amenity combination for that property, as it has never before been seen with a Boutique or Spa icon, so i'm not certain that is the hotel you're being offered.
