Priceline Hotel: getting 2 rooms for a different ammount of nights

I am looking to get 2 hotel rooms at the same hotel in the Anaheim Disneyland area using either hotwire or priceline, but I only want one for 3 nights (12/27-12/30), and the other for 4 nights (12/27-31). Is this possible with either priceline or hotwire? If so, how do you do it?

If not, and I decided to just get them as 2 separate transactions, what would be the chance that I could get both rooms at the same hotel for the same price if the transactions were a couple of minutes apart?

Any advice?

You have two options:

1) bid for 2 rooms 12/27-12/30 and then one additional room for 12/30-12/31 (which may involve needing to change hotels for those staying this additional nite)

2) make two separate transactions and risk different hotels

You don't mention what star rating or budget you're seeking, but to expand further on #1 above, you could search HOTWIRE for two rooms for 12/27-12/30 and then search again for one room for 12/30-12/31 and see if what appears to be the same hotel (based upon star rating and amenities shown) appears for each leg of your stay. This would at least give you a way to target the same hotel for the additional nite.

Similarly you could search HOTWIRE for one room for 12/27-12/30 and then again for 12/27-12/31 to see if the same hotel appears for each search, but this would be riskier than the method above since if only one room is available for this date range, it will currently appear for each search, but once you make a purchase for one of the date ranges, the hotel wouldn't appear for your subsequent search.

You could try the above via PRICELINE, but you'd then have to simply keep your fingers crossed and have no way to at least target the same hotel for the second purchase.

Thank you very much for your help. That makes good sense. We really prefer to stay in a 2 room suite, so I bid (using the link here) on priceline for the Hyatt (only 4 star in Disney area) . I had heard that they Hyatt does have a lot of suites and often offers priceline guests to pay for an upgrade to a suite for a relatively small fee. I knew it wouldn't be a sure thing, but was ok with at least a good shot at getting a suite. I bid up to $58, using the 1 room at a time strategy but didn't get it.

Then I found rooms available at the Marriott Anaheim Suites for $79 a night and reserved those directly with Marriott. For that price the assurance of getting a suite, being able to get the rooms for the right amount of nights, and being able to cancel the reservation if needed, is all worth it to me for this trip.

I'm still checking HOTWIRE daily though to see if they have any suites come up in the Disneyland area. No suites have come up yet for my dates.
