Hotwire Hotel: 4* Paris (Montparnasse-Porte de Versailles) Villa Montparnasse

Used the HOTWIRE link, but did not have time to share my purchase. Just wanted to share to others planning a trip to Paris.

Based on my purchase for a 4* Paris Montparnasse - Porte de Versailles with only the business center and internet access as the only two property amenities, the property is the Villa Montparnasse. Cannot understand why the property shows as a 4/5 on TripAdvisor.

Buyer beware if you get this property. There is no business center and the wireless internet access only works in the lobby entrance area. The rooms are very small and more of a 2.5 star motel quality. No restaurant on site. Uses traditional room keys that you pick-up and drop-off at the front desk each day. Lastly, the property still charges a nightly "city tax" to Hotwire guests even though the purchase is inclusive of all local and state taxes.

I highly recommend contacting Hotwire if you end up getting this property prior to leaving on your trip. Another HOTWIRE user at the front desk had the same problem during checkout, which has been reported by other TripAdvisor reviewers.

Do note for future reference that the "Business icon" only means access to business services/equipment (which at a minimum could be a Fax machine) not an all-out business center, and the Internet icon means that rooms have internet access (could be wired) and nothing about access available in the lobby. If the property fell short meeting either of these i would contact HOTWIRE regarding the lack of amenities advertised. I don't know what type of tax the hotel tried to charge, but note that there are some taxes (such as an occupancy tax) which may be charged directly by the hotel at check-out.

Expedia, Orbitz, and Travelocity all rate this property 4 stars, so i'm sure that's what HOTWIRE is basing their own rating on... sorry it didn't live up to your expecations.
