Jatt Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Hey guys! I've been using Priceline for over 5 years now and althought someone told me about HOTWIRE few years ago, i found hotwire to be a bit expensive than PRICELINE. Is that right? what do you guys recommend? Which are the pro/cons with hotwire compare to priceline?thanks
thereuare Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but there are times when each is the 'right' service to use. Jatt Posted December 5, 2009 Author Report Posted December 5, 2009 Hey guys, Booked another hotel in montreal from Dec 31-Jan 1 In downtown montreal 4* "Congratulations, your price of $74 was accepted by Hyatt Regency Montreal"I should of bidded a bit lower because it got accepted in the first attempt...Was hoping for ommni because of the location but hyatt seems good aswell!
yellowdog Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Thank you for sharing your result with the boardEnjoy your stay. Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Yellowdog.
wrob Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 I've used both with great results and as noted sometimes there is an advantage to use HOTWIRE over PRICELINE... a couple of examples in my case:- We prefer to use the Hotel Crystal in Montreal... it is not available on Priceline so we use HOTWIRE.Until recently it was the only 4 1/2 star so it was easy to get!- I find it is often easier to pinpoint exactly which hotel you'll get with Hotwire. For me, this is important in places like Paris as with Priceline you can end up with a hotel way out by the Peripherique. With Hotwire I pretty well know exactly which hotel I'll get. OTOH, if you're bidding on a central hotel in Amsterdam you really can't get a bad location with PRICELINE.Either way, betterbidding.com is always the place to check BEFORE bidding anywhere!Rob
