joao Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Hi!Used the tips from the forum to get the above two dates. Used the PRICELINE link. First tried U$120 and worked my way up to U$150. Its a bit more expensive (U$20) than what others have experienced, but I think that it might be because of the hight season.Used the Mestre trick to get bids more ofter. For those of you who dont know the trick: add mestre with 5 star bid to get another bid because there currently isnt any 5* hotel in Mestre, so you're just getting a second bit for Venice for free. :)I have one issue right now: I chose two dates but would appreciate having a third (16th April). I tried extending through the EXTEND YOUR TRIP link but the price was not accepted. Upon rejection, it advised me that the rooms was available for U$202, and I found it way too expensive. I have done posterior bid of up to U$180 and nothing. Is the U$202 the minimum bid I will get the room for?Does anyone have any tips? It wont be the end of the world if I dont get the third night, but it would be welcome. Thanks!Jo
AaronJB Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Congratulations on your success!$202 may be the minimum accepted bid, although you could certainly try again at $190. Would you be willing to switch hotels for the third night?Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
joao Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 Just an update. I had to think out of the box for this one. The date I was looking forward to was on a Friday, and I saw on some site that that specific night had high rates. So I just did some shifting and changed my timetable in order to stay the night before as well. So I quickly did a bid for U$130, and got a U$152 offer Rejected it, amd rebid at 140 and got it. Thanks!
