teresaa Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 I just got a 3.5* hotel with business center, restaurant, and high speed internet for $75 for Dec. 4 in downtown for $75 (89 with taxes). I used your HOTWIRE link. The hotel is Hotel Fifty. I have never stayed there before, so I will let you know how it goes. It has free wifi, which is really nice.

teresaa Posted December 7, 2009 Author Report Posted December 7, 2009 I just got a 3.5* hotel with business center, restaurant, and high speed internet for $75 for Dec. 4 in downtown for $75 (89 with taxes). I used your HOTWIRE link. The hotel is Hotel Fifty. I have never stayed there before, so I will let you know how it goes. It has free wifi, which is really nice. When I called the hotel to confirm the room type they told me that Hotwire rooms at their hotel always are rooms with one queen bed. I was not happy about this as my friend and I don't sleep well if we have to share a bed. We can make do with a king sized bed, but a queen is too small. We are both light sleepers. None of the other Hotwire 3* and above hotels I have stayed in had any thing less than a king or a two double bed option. Hotel Fifty wanted me to pay $40 extra for a room with two doubles or a king bed. No roll-aways allowed.I was pretty unhappy and they finally agreed to let me have the room with two doubles for no extra money. The hotel was pretty much empty that night (although there was someone next door, so I found out the walls are thin).I think Hotwire should warn people if the bed options are that limited. :)
thereuare Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Glad to hear the hotel was willing to work with your regarding the bed situation, but do note for future purchases that HOTWIRE only guarantees sleeping accomodations for everyone you include on your search... rooom configuration and number of beds is not guaranteed (and is stated so in the help section of their website):All rooms booked on Hotwire will accommodate the appropriate number of guests in each room, based on the total number of guests you provided and the number of rooms you requested. Some of our hotel partners allow you to reserve your beds (e.g., king, queen) at the time of booking. Look for this indicated in the search results. If this option is not available, please contact the property directly. While we cannot guarantee that your request will be accommodated, our hotel partners will do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. In the future if you want to ensure separate beds you should search for triple occupancy, which ensures separate sleeping 'accomodations' (which usually is 2 beds, but could be 1bed+sofabed or 1bed+rollaway).Note PRICELINE doesn't allow you to select the number of guests and only guarantees double occupancy (again, room configuration and number of beds is not guaranteed) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
r00st Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Teresa, did your amenities list also include "no smoking" or just the 3 you listed?I am searching for 1/10-1/13 for 4 adults in portland downtown and the 3.5 star showed up with the same amenities you listed but also the "no smoking" icon. I just thought this would help me narrow down which hotel I was getting. Thanks!
