I'd like help with a bidding strategy to pick up a car at the Ft Lauderdale airport, economy is ok. Looking to pay under $180 for the whole week.

Could you please help with bidding for a car economy Jan 12 - 19 pick up and drop off at FLL airport 10 am both pick up and return? Priceline or Hotwire, whatever is a better price. We're willing to pay up to 150 tax incl if possible.

I bid on priceline $10 $13 $14 and nothing I also trying going from economy to compact to convertible

Hotwire has a rate of 16.95/day with taxes $181.18. Pick up and drop off FLL 10AM Jan 12 - 19.

What are your suggestions?

So to clarify, your $10 bid was for an economy car, $13 bid was for a compact, and your $14 was for a convertible?

I assume the HOTWIRE rate is for an economy?

I had to change the type of car to rebid. What do you suggest? I've read people got a economy from Hertz for $5, are they waiting until it's closer to the date of travel?

Rates are date specific (based upon supply/demand) and a $5 win would be during very low demand.

With time on your side i would increase your compact car bid by $2 every 24 hours, but as the fees can differ on PRICELINE vs. HOTWIRE, make sure that the 'all-in' price of your PRICELINE bid doesn't exceed the $181 offered by HOTWIRE.
