Welcome to BetterBidding!

If you go to PRICELINE and look at the zones within Manhattan, which zones, by PRICELINE name, are you willing to accept? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3* (or 3.5*) OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay?

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly.

Hello,

I am interested in the exact dates as the original poster. I am willing to pay around 200$ or so.

I looked at the priceline zones. And am very flexible.

The possible zones include: 1,2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10.

What do you think will be my best bet? Thank you so much for this great help. When I am ready, I will use your PRICELINE link.

Preferably, I would like 3.5 or 4 stars.

I am looking at 200-220$ all inclusive. IS this too little of a bid for 3.5 / 4 stars?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks.

$220 "all-in" is a bid of about $185-190.

I would suggest not bidding on Brooklyn.

Otherwise, I don't think this is going to be enough for a 3.5* or 4* in CPS, Chelsea, Empire State, MSG, MTE, MTW, TS during these dates. I'm guessing a 3.5* in any of those zones on these dates may require a bid of $215-225 (and possibly a bit higher than that.)

Hello, I am seeing a 3.5 star Downtown soho hotel for Dec 12th saturday. Says "non-smoking, fitness, internet, restaurants".

The rate is 203$

Any ideas on what this one could be?

Thanks.

Does this replace your other thread (which was for the 11th-13th?)

This property has not yet been reported to the board/ID'd, but my guess is that this may be the Hotel Reserve.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.

Thank you Aaronjb. Yes, I dropped the idea of traveling that dates from the priceline bids. Suddenly found this hotwire hotel.

Not booked yet.

Yes, you can kindly replace my other thread with this one.

Thank you.

Thanks for letting us know. Please let us know if you have further questions or decide on a hotel. :)

Thanks AaronJB. The Hotwire prices went up quite steep too before we bought it.

Finally we decided to stay the night at the Verve Hotel in Long Island City. It seems like a real short subway ride in to Manhattan Central Park area.

My friend booked it directly through the hotel for about 160$. (all inclusive).

So, I figured we would save about 110$ or so from the hotwire rate. That could be spent on sightseeing..

Thanks again for your help and guidance. Sorry we could not get deals (that we could afford) in NYC this time.
